The NHS Scotland Academy is offering a new accelerated online education and training programme for Band 2 – 4 Health Care Scientists recently employed in Central Decontamination Units (CDU).
What is the Decontamination Science (CDU) Training Programme?
The Accelerated Decontamination Science (CDU) Training Programme is for Band 2 to 4 Health Care Scientists who are newly employed in a Central Decontamination Unit environment.
It is made up of theoretical content designed to support and enhance the practical competency training that Health care scientists receive in their individual CDUs.
Learners benefit from access to a bespoke, interactive digital learning package that introduces them to, and expands on, theoretical concepts which support their work in a CDU setting.
The programme of study is designed to allow Health care scientists newly appointed to roles in CDUs to study at a pace and at an academic level which is suited to their needs.
NHS Boards identify prospective learners and apply to for Scottish Government funded places.
On completion of the programme, the learner will receive a qualification accredited at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) level 6.
